Memory Consumption

KnowledgeTree can require lots of memory, especially when managing large amounts of data. If you find that your KnowledgeTree JumpBox is becoming sluggish, or if you plan to put lots of data into your KnowledgeTree JumpBox, or if many people will be accessing KnowledgeTree at once, you may want to raise the memory limit for the JumpBox. Restoring from backups generated by versions prior to 1.1.8

This release has a manual upgrade process. When restoring from backups generated by versions prior to 1.1.8, you will need to use the following simple procedure:

1. Restore the backup as you usually do.
2. Once the restore has finished, click the KnowledgeTree icon near the top of the page to go to KnowledgeTree.
3. Log in with your admin credentials.
4. You will see an error message about your database being out of date. Click the link.
5. You'll be taken to the upgrade interface, where you'll be asked to log in again.
6. After logging in again, you'll go through a sequence of upgrade steps. You can just keep clicking "next."
7. Eventually, you will be presented with a dialog box telling you to restart KnowledgeTree's services. Click OK, then reboot the JumpBox.
8. Once the JumpBox has rebooted, you can go to the root URL of KnowledgeTree. You should be able to log in and use the JumpBox as normal.
