Notes
StatusNet has many additional features that allow it to interact with other web services and make it more useful. Some of these are enabled by default, most are not, but can be configured with some effort on the part of the JumpBox administrator. The authoritative source for information on Status.Net is /var/data/statusnet/README on the JumpBox. Configuring these extensions requires some system administration skill, and whilst we are interested to hear of success or failure, we don't guarantee this functionality.
- Memcached and Fancy URLs: enabled by default, no action required
- Twitter: tested, follow the instructions in the README. Callback URLs will look something like this: http://IP_OR_HOSTNAME/twitter/authorization where IP_OR_HOSTNAME is the IP address or the hostname that you use to access the JumpBox. Note that you must have a public-facing IP address (or appropriate firewall and router settings) for this to work.
- Sphinx: untested, but should work. Note that simply running "pecl install sphinx" will not work, as Ubuntu does not include the sphinx client libraries by default. You will probably need to compile Sphinx from source. To do so, you will at a minimum need to install the following Ubuntu packages: build-essential php5-dev php-pear. Once Sphinx and the client libraries are in place, "pecl install sphinx" should work.
- SMS, Facebook, XMPP, queueing daemons: untested, but should work.
