Backup destination - Browser

All JumpBox applications have the ability to do backups to an external file system. Backups can be run on demand or scheduled at various frequencies and will make a copy of all application data (including that which resides in both the database and the file system for the application). Backups require that you first register the JumpBox. The newest release of the JumpBox platform allows you to generate a backup which can be immediately downloaded via HTTP right to your desktop via a browser.

1. Open a web browser and navigate to the admin console of your running JumpBox. Click the "Backups" icon.

and depending on how your browser works it should either automatically download a file or prompt you to download a file containing the backup data. This is the backup part of the equation. JumpBoxes can be restored from a file over HTTP as well. This method of backup/restore is appropriate when you don't have access to a network share or if you're running a JumpBox remotely in a scenario without network access. Learn how to restore from the backup you just made here.
